Invisible monster

You don’t hear it coming
You don’t see it coming
Like a tornado that leaves only destruction
A force to be reckoned with rips into our lives
And in a whirl disrupts everything
You feel the after effects for a long time
And you wonder what you did to deserve a visit;
From the much feared invisible monster!
Its power is deceptive, its stealth uncanny
But it doesn’t bear good tidings-
Just merciless surprise.
With surgical precision it cuts deep
And your life is in shreds before you know it.
A phoenix rises from the ashes so there’s hope-
That tomorrow will be a better day
And in the aftermath, you will find yourself again!
